Eyes: Straw yellow
Nose: Stone fruit, white peach, melon
Mouth: Lemon and lime supported by vanilla from the French oak and a lengthy finish

This wine has been crafted with limited intervention and with reduction in mind. An elegant, complex wine with soft mouth feel. Light and lively with well-balanced acidity producing a clean lengthy finish. Aromas of stone fruit, white peach and hint of melon. Lightly oaked. The limestone rich sandy-loam alkaline soils of our ultra-cool climate estate vineyard are very closely aligned with the terroir of the Côte de Beaune.

Pair with shellfish, creamy pasta, smooth vegetable soups, creamy cheeses.

About De Beaurepaire

From the first vine planting in 1998, our family’s single estate vineyard has grown into a renowned multi-generational boutique producer of French-style wines. Home of Winestate Magazine’s 2018 Australian Wine of the Year, we are located on the hills above the historic village of Rylstone, an area we were drawn to for its similarity to the Burgundian terroir of our heritage.

About Rich White

Rich whites are full-bodied white wines that are perfect for red wine lovers because of their rich smooth taste with subtle creaminess. What makes them different than light white wines usually involves special winemaking techniques including the use of oak-aging, (just like aged whiskeys, wine becomes smoother with barrel aging too).

The classic choice for this wine is Chardonnay and particularly Chardonnay from a warmer climate (like California, Spain or Italy). Beside Chardonnay, another great option in this style is Viognier.
