Eyes: Ruby to brick garnet
Nose: Fruit power is the first impression, dark berry fruits and some sage adding a background herbal lift. Oak spice is evident but all in balance with the fruit, herbal lift.
Mouth: The palate shows power and restraint at the same time, the iron fist in a velvet glove. Beautiful fruit, a bright acid drive and tannins.
and restraint at the same time, the iron fist in a velvet glove.

The Yarra Yering Dry Red No.1 is comprised of predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with small parcels of Malbec and Petit Verdot from one of the great sites of the Yarra Valley.
The individual parcels are fermented in small open-top tea-chest fermenters, the final blend crafted to showcase each individual season on this iconic Yarra Valley estate.
This is a glorious wine, a benchmark of the famous Yarra Valley Cabernet wine style.
It's a wine destined for great things. The 2017 is an excellent vintage for more robust red wines. Winemaker Sarah Crowe knocked this out of the park. It should be an essential part of any serious Australian cellar.

Striploin and brussel sprouts, iberico ham, mozzarela cheese, red sauce pasta, roast beef and venison.

Serving temperature: Cellar temp. at 13-16°C

About Medium Red

Medium red wines can be called “food wines.” They offer up tons of flavor with a balance of zesty acidity which makes them match with a wide variety of foods (from zesty salads to rich and cheesy lasagna). These are the perfect mid-week wines for red wine lovers.

There are many varieties that span the mid-weight red wine category so, to name a few familiar ones, check out Grenache, Sangiovese, Merlot, Zinfandel, Montepulciano, Cabernet Franc and Barbera.
